Barfoot & Thompson have a branch office located in Royal Oak’s oldest building, the iconic Royal Oak Hotel. Originally constructed in 1852 the Royal Oak Hotel was located on the Royal Oak Roundabout and gave the suburb its name. In 1909 the hotel lost its licence to sell alcohol and for many years it was a pharmacy before becoming the premises of a Barfoot & Thompson Real Estate Agency.
Barfoot & Thompson recently renovated the lovely old building. They wanted a striking void created between the two levels in the building and Origin’s Sarath Samarasekara carried out a VM2 design to achieve this. And to improve property protection Origin’s Wayne Joseph purpose-designed an efficient sprinkler system. Michael James says the Origin team were delighted to be asked to future proof the heritage building.
